I enjoy the game when it works but more often then not it runs like an absolute pig on a 3G. This may not be an issue for 3GS or 4 users and this may in fact be the fault of the iOS who knows but I can not recomend this for users of the iPhone 3G. The problem becomes most pronounced when double pouring. The animations lag, hang, and at times crash. Ive "restarted" as the suggestion is made, Ive uninstalled, reinstalled, redownloaded. All to no avail. Any how, if you have a 3GS or 4 do not pass on this game, if you have a 3G (or worse a first gen iPhone) seriously consider the performance first.
Alot of fun and enjoyable but it lags then crashes a lot.. Fix please... Hopefully.
I hope they add more levels and support for the retina display on the iPhone. Really fun game though.
Awesome game its a lot of fun. The scotch fizz in survival mode considers scotch to be the wrong base (rum works though). Ive lost a few solid streaks because of this - 5 stars otherwise
This is a very well put together game to help teach a few of the basics of bartending. Currently this game has 84 drink recipes, and playing through the game a few times will help you memorize them. Along the way, you also start to figure out timing. This can help if you use a pour top to mix your drinks. This game is a good value, and makes the basics very approachable.
The game play is fast-paced and theres just the right amount of story to keep you interested. The characters are awesome and (in a good way) ridiculous. I learned how to make tons of great drinks. Overall, Nimble Strong is a wonderful foundational introduction to bartending that also doubles as fun pick-up-and-play game. Worth every penny of the $4.99.
Love the wacky comic style storytelling. And, as a self-proclaimed cocktail geek, I’m very impressed with the high level of mixology intel.
Im having a great time playing this game. I think the characters are hilarious, and its quick enough that I can play it on the train. Really fun!
Basically its Trauma Center, but cocktails instead of surgery. Plus this actually teaches you many drink recipes, while Trauma Center teaches u how to draw wiggly lines on a wound.
Easy to play, fun characters, and some real world knowledge.
What a great time this game is! Ive finished story mode and now Im working my way through "Survival" to sharpen my skills. I love that at the end of the game, Ive actually learned something. This is a truly unique, educational and fun experience. If your on the fence about buying it, try the free version and youll be hooked. I dont often buy apps (usually stick to free ones) but this one is worth every penny. I was able to make margaritas, mai tais and daiquiris from scratch at a party last night without having to consult a recipe.... Good times :).
Devolepoers need to fix the fact that the app glitches up, it wont even start sometimes. PLEASE FIX IT otherwise it is a great game
Great game. Lots of fun. Cool that you learn how to mix drinks in the process.
Just beat the Story Mode under 2 hours. For $5, it should take between 4-5 hours to beat to give me satisfaction. The time limit is kind of far fetched. Or at least make it a little more lenient. Or better yet, put in difficulty modes with three different time limits. Another cool feature would be to able to pour multiple drinks with each finger (i.e. assign a base to each finger to make multiple drinks just like in real life). I like the story, dialogue, and gameplay. The selection of drinks could be a bit better. Please make a sequel in a couple of months with a blender and more actions like straining, making shots, making bombs (Irish Car Bomb, please), mixing energy drinks, and lighting the tops of the drinks on fire (where the user can blow them out by blowing into the mic). Also, the pictures arent that great but they sorta work.
As a long time chef in hotels, I watched good bartenders handle busy nights with amazement. They could crank out tray fulls of varied drink orders for pickup, and also carry on chatter with their own customers at the bar as they did it. Playing this game gives you more than good "what-goes-in-this-drink?" info, but a real sense of the production side of bartending. Quick thinking, organization, and attention to detail can be practiced in the relaxed story mode or the OMG survival game. Career switch anyone?
This game is hands down one of my new favorites. Ive always wanted to learn to mix drinks and there are so many great tips in here. The art is fun, the interface is clever, and the story/characters are quirky. On the iphone 3g it is jerky (as warned) but the controls are laggy as well. So it doesnt just affect how it looks but how it plays too. The shame of it is that the graphics arent that demanding- this should run smoothly. Really one of the most enjoyable games out there. Cant wait to play on a 4g.
This game has loads of personality and distinct characters. Its a fairly short game but it takes several play-throughs to master. Id love to see more titles from this creator.
Heard great things about this game, and I had to check it out. The game is fun by itself, and also teaches you how to make actual drinks. The characters are funny, and the storyline is great. It becomes quite a challenge when you must create the drinks quickly, while also remembering the ingredients for each. Worth the money, and has great replay value with the "Recipe Book" and "Survival" mode. Cant recommend it enough.
Learning how to make drinks takes a LOT, and this game makes it fun. I hate to say it, but Ive learned a lot.
